TruDiscus didn’t start with a business plan. It started with a tank. One single tank. A few colorful Discus fish. And a quiet obsession that turned into something much bigger.
In 2021, we opened a small mom and pop shop in Chicago. Nothing fancy. Just people who loved fish helping other people love fish. We cleaned tanks, gave advice, and stayed long after closing hours to make sure every fish was fed, healthy, and cared for. There were nights we stood still for half an hour just watching them swim. You don’t rush this kind of thing.
Back then, we had a different name. But the love for Discus was always there. These fish are special. They’re sensitive, a little mysterious, but when they trust you, they light up the whole tank. We knew right away this wasn’t just a hobby. It was a calling.
